What sets Team Wooly Mammoth apart from other central Texas teams is the manner in which we race. Cooperation and personal sacrifice for a positive team result typifies our attitude and approach to bicycle racing. Team cohesion along with the good humor and charisma we bring to our training and competition has endeared us to our rivals, fans, and the cycling community at large. Team Wooly Mammoth was built upon a reverence for the beauty and tradition of European cycling.
While we approach racing seriously, we find it equally important to truly enjoy the experience of training and competing as a team. We were borne from fishermen, raised by messengers, and we are all good friends. We share a passion for the little things in cycling – the feeling of launching a flyer in the final kilometers of a race, the sensation of stringing out the field into the wind, the gut instinct that leads to a precise counter-attack, and all the sacrifices we gladly make for one another. Results are secondary to the knowledge that we have raced with integrity, panache, and grace.
